5MC ~~ Capture

“When you pursue God with all your heart, soul, and body, He will turn to meet you and you will come out of it ruined for the world.” ~Tommy Tenney

Jesus, capture my heart. Help me to seek Your face and Your will above all else. Teach me in such a way that day after day the only thing I see in the mirror is You. Help me to love like You do, to see people the way You do because when that happens I know that more and more You have captured my heart and I have captured Yours. Thank you Lord for the ability to study and to know You more and more. You said in Your Word that if I sought Your face You would show me You. Drawing closer to You is the most important thing that I can do. Because when I am captured by You then everything else will work out the way that You desire it to work out in my life. To be captured by You is the ultimate goal. To capture You is what life is all about and the desire of my heart. I will praise Your name for ever. Amen.

…a Reason for Prayer?

Romans 8:26 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
Sometimes when I pray, my mind gets lost or is not in focus and I have no idea why I am on my knees.  I remember to thank God for all His blessings and to pray for the ‘normal’ things I do each day.  But sometimes I have the overwhelming feeling of ‘is God really listening’ to me.  Or I wonder if I am praying selfishly – should I be praying for something else.
That’s when I try to stop and listen to the Spirit inside me.  He knows what I need long before it comes to my mind.  He will intercede for me when I am too drained to think of anything myself.  And as He prays with me and through me, I am refreshed and comforted by His Spirit.
We all need refreshment…some days more than others.  God will refresh us if only we will stop and allow Him too.
My prayer is that I allow the Spirit to pray through me…that my prayer life grows and grows…that people around me can see I have been in the presence of God.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.

Slow down…You Need to Rest!

Mark 6:46 (NASB) 46 After bidding them farewell, He left for the mountain to pray.

Jesus had just fed the five thousand, He sent His disciples ahead of Him to Bethsaida, and now He was spending some alone time with His Father.  He had had a busy day and now He needed to regain His strength. Are we any better than this?

Why do we think that we can go through our busy day…week and not have some alone time with God?  How can we expect to grow in Christ and hear His voice if we’re on the ‘run’ with chores, work, activities and leave no time for Jesus?  I don’t know about you but I am all too guilty of having ‘fast food’ prayer because there are other things I think need to be done.  What we need to remember is…if we give God first place in our study of His word, in our prayer life, in our relationship with Him, in ALL things…then everything else will be just the way God wants it in our life.  He is our Strength…He is our Joy…He is our Peace.  He is ABSOLUTELY all we need!

My prayer is that as each day passes my alone time with God grows…that I not allow outside distractions to take my focus off of Jesus Christ, my Savior…that my life is a testimony of God’s goodness and grace. How about you?

I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
