“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!” ~ Psalm 105:1 (NKJV)
I want to get just a little personal today.
Several weeks ago I remarked to my husband that I would need new undies soon. Mine had begun to get threadbare and some of the elastic was wearing out. Not a very big thing but one I believe rather important. ☺
Fast forward to this week…
I had a dear friend text me and say she had some things to give me. Guess what they were? YES, you got it! Undies! 16 pair of them! I was so excited. It was the answer to a need!
You can laugh all you want but I believe that it was God providing a need that I had.
You see, we definitely give Him credit for the big things. New car, new house, healing our bodies, financial assistance when things are tough but I think the little things get lost most of the time.
He is a God that wants to be included in our every day things…in the smallest of details in our lives. He is our Father! He desires to be included in all we do and all we are. We’re the ones who limit His hand. Don’t you think it’s time we stop putting limits on who Jesus is in our lives?
My prayer is that I not limit my Lord in my life…that I allow Him to be involved in all areas and every aspect of my being…that I encourage others to praise Him for ’16 pair of undies’. How about you?
James 1:12 (NIV) 12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
James says that, ‘blessed is the man who perseveres’.
The verse doesn’t say the one who never fails…who doesn’t fall…who doesn’t go around in circles, but the one who perseveres. To persevere is to keep going, to keep pushing, to keep fighting for something, to keep on keeping on even when you may not feel like there is any hope. Because in Christ Jesus there is always Hope!
“I am blessed…everyday, in every way. I am blessed. God has been so good to me. He’s never failed me…He’s never let me down. All I can say…I am blessed.”
I woke up singing that song and I know God put that song in my heart during the night. I have been struggling with my own trial lately. Sometimes I feel like I am about to reach the ‘end’ of the tunnel and then I can see that it is a little longer than I thought. But when I woke up singing this song…I knew that no matter what is going on all around me…I am blessed! God is my strength and my song! And no matter how I feel – my perseverance…my keep on keeping on…will be worth everything when I get to see Jesus face to face, when I get to spend 5 minutes at His feet.
My prayer is that no matter what comes my way I never give up the hope I have in Jesus…that each day I not forget how blessed I am because of my Lord and Savior…that in some way I can make a difference in the life of someone else so that they too will know they are well and truly blessed by God. How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
Psalm 103:1-5 (NASB) Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your disease; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loving-kindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Count your blessings! That’s a phrase that is often repeated by everyone. Sometimes when you’re going through a rough time…those are the last words you want to hear. When you’re told that the thoughts in your head range from…‘sure’ to…‘I know, but you don’t know what I’m going though’, to ‘but you don’t understand what’s going on in my life right now’. How do I know? Because they have run through my mind a time or two. But when we do count our blessings with an open heart and mind – we begin to see and realize just what God has already done for us. When we see this we know that if He never did another thing for us, our salvation is the greatest of all.
Let’s bless the name of the Lord. Let’s praise Him for all He has done and all He continues to do in and through us. He deserves all the glory and praise we have to offer Him no matter what we are going through at the moment.
My prayer is that I never cease to praise the name of the Lord…that if I am going through a rough time I praise Him even more…that people around me can see where I get my joy, peace, and strength from – my Lord, Jesus Christ. How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
