Wait Here?

“And now, Lord, what do I wait for?  My hope is in You.”                          Psalm 39:7 (NKJV)

WaitWhere are you?

How is your spiritual walk going?

Are you on the mountain top with everything going just the way you hoped?

Are you in a dry and deserted place trying to hear the voice of God?

I have to admit that waiting is not my strong suit.  I am a planner.  I have lists for everything.  So if something doesn’t work out the way I had planned it can throw me off.  Waiting, whether I’m on the mountain or in a desert, is just difficult for me.

I don’t like that part of me and it is something God is working on with me.  I have to remember that no matter what He is in control.

Why?  Because sometimes ‘waiting’ is exactly where He wants us.  For what reason? Waiting can mean more time to study His word.  It can mean more time spent in communion with Jesus.  It can be the one thing we need to get through the next storm.  Waiting can be the difference between standing tall in the strength of the Lord and falling flat on our faces.

My prayer is that I ‘wait’ on the Lord in all things…that when I am ‘waiting’ I can use that time to grow closer in my relationship with Jesus…that I can encourage others who may be in a ‘waiting’ status in the Lord.  How about you?

Bumps? What Bumps?

Exodus 23:20 (NIV) 20 “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”

As God’s children, He does not ‘send’ us anywhere without preparing the way.  He will not leave us, forsake us, or allow us to be ill-prepared for any assignment He gives us.  He has given His angels charge over us and if we allow Him – He will guide every step we take.

That does not mean there will not be bumps in the road.  I know that each of us has a testimony about some of the ‘bumps’ we have encountered.  But this world is not our ‘heaven’ nor is it the place where we need to put our trust and faith.  Our eyes and our hearts should be firmly fixed on Jesus and our trust always placed in God.  He is the one who sent His son to die for our sins so that we wouldn’t have to pay that price.  He is the one who supplies ALL our needs.  And He is the one preparing a place for us with Him in Heaven.

My prayer is that I am always in the place He wants me to be…that I seek after Jesus each day with all my heart, mind, soul and strength…that people around me know I have been in the presence of God.  How about you?

I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.

The Right Path

Psalm 119:105-106 (NLT) 105 Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.  106 I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise again:  I will obey Your wonderful laws.
How do we know the direction God wants us to go in?  How do we know the plans He has for our lives?  By reading and studying His word.  All the answers we need are in the pages of God’s Word.  We can find some direction when we go to church on Sundays and Bible study on Wednesdays.  We can hear bits and pieces from a preacher on TV, the radio or on CDs or tapes.  But when we really get serious about walking in the way God wants us too, then we will get serious about studying the Word of God.
The Bible will show us where God wants us to be.  It will show us how He wants us to act.  When we begin to know and understand this in our hearts it will help us in our daily walk with Christ.  Every day we need to recommit our lives to Christ.  It is an everyday battle with the flesh to live the way God wants us too.  And the best weapon we have against that battle is God’s Word.
My prayer is that I never slack up in my reading and studying of God’s Word…that I continually recommit myself to obeying God’s laws…that my life is a testimony to those around me of my wonderful Savior.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
