Isaiah 51:7 (NKJV) 7 “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law:  Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults.”
Are you a child of God?  Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?  Is He the Lord of your life?  If you answered yes to these questions, then there is no need for you to fear any man.  There’s something we used to say when I was a kid and in an argument with another ‘Sticks and stones my break my bones, but words will never hurt me.’  That’s not true, you know.  Sticks and stones can break bones and I hate to admit it but words can hurt.  We like to think they won’t but we all know they do.  BUT…even with that kind of pain – we should never fear or be afraid of what man can say to us or about us.
Not everyone is going to like you.  I know that may come as a shock but it’s just the way life is.  Yet, we as children of God can know that Jesus will always be there for us.  We don’t have to depend on anyone but Him.  Some people will try to run over you…try to shame you…try to get others to dislike you – all because of your relationship with Jesus.  But hold on to Jesus!  It is true that you reap what you sow.  Stay steadfast in your walk with God and keep standing on His word and you will be the better for it.  God is a rewarder to those who love and obey Him.
My prayer is that I do not give a thought to what the world thinks of me…that I pray for any who ridicule or insult me…that my relationship with Jesus only grows stronger each day.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.

The Right Path

Psalm 119:105-106 (NLT) 105 Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.  106 I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise again:  I will obey Your wonderful laws.
How do we know the direction God wants us to go in?  How do we know the plans He has for our lives?  By reading and studying His word.  All the answers we need are in the pages of God’s Word.  We can find some direction when we go to church on Sundays and Bible study on Wednesdays.  We can hear bits and pieces from a preacher on TV, the radio or on CDs or tapes.  But when we really get serious about walking in the way God wants us too, then we will get serious about studying the Word of God.
The Bible will show us where God wants us to be.  It will show us how He wants us to act.  When we begin to know and understand this in our hearts it will help us in our daily walk with Christ.  Every day we need to recommit our lives to Christ.  It is an everyday battle with the flesh to live the way God wants us too.  And the best weapon we have against that battle is God’s Word.
My prayer is that I never slack up in my reading and studying of God’s Word…that I continually recommit myself to obeying God’s laws…that my life is a testimony to those around me of my wonderful Savior.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.

Who’s Going?

Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?  And who will go for us?”  And I said, “Here am I.  Send me!”
“Here am I.  Send me!”  These are the words our Father in Heaven wants to hear.  But not only does He want to hear them from us, He wants us to put actions behind our words.  Several years ago my Pastor preached a series of messages designed to ‘lift the lid off of our worship’.  These sermons really stirred a longing in my soul for Christ to use me in a new and different way.  I want Him to use me more and more for His kingdom.  But it is easy to listen to a Sunday service and say ‘amen’ and agree with what is being said – but it is harder to put it into action.
Sometimes I have had a difficult time getting ‘up off the couch’ and doing the things I know God wants me to do.  I finally realized that to become who Christ wants me to become I need to take it – not just one day at a time – but one step at a time.  If I want more prayer time in my life – I start with some prayer time everyday.  If it’s more study time – the same thing.  Eventually, what started out as a little, will become much more through Jesus.  And not only will God guide us – step by step – but He will show us how to gain more and more from these wonderful habits.  His Grace will show us the way!
My prayer is that each day I do a little more of what God desires from me…that I can always say ‘Send me’ when God calls…that people around me know I am trying each day to be more like my Jesus.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
