Power Shortage???

Jeremiah 32:17 (AMP) 17 Alas, Lord God!  Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm!  There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You–

Acts 1:8 (NIV8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…

Have you ever been at work and your electricity shuts off?  What about at home when you’re cleaning, cooking – has it happened there.  It has to me.  Power would blink on and off…or stay on for a short time before going out again.  You can’t get anything accomplished because you don’t know when or if the electricity is going to be restored.  You need electricity to run office machines, computers, household items – just about everything.

God’s power is not like that!  It never shorts out…it never cuts off…it is always running through the circuits.  Jeremiah talks of the power that was used to create our universe and how nothing is too hard for our God.  And then in Acts 1:8; Jesus Himself, tells the disciples that this same power will be sent down to us in the person of the Holy Spirit.

If we believe this then…why do we doubt…why do we fear…why do we want to ‘throw in the towel’ when the road gets rough.  As sons and daughters of the living God…as brothers and sisters of Christ, this power is also available to us.  There is nothing we can’t accomplish.  The victory is already ours through the power of our Father in Heaven.

My prayer is that I never forget that as God’s child I have available to me His power…that with that power I become more and more bold for my Savior…that any doubts or fears I have become less and less with the power of the Holy Spirit in me.  How about you?

I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.

…a Reason for Prayer?

Romans 8:26 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
Sometimes when I pray, my mind gets lost or is not in focus and I have no idea why I am on my knees.  I remember to thank God for all His blessings and to pray for the ‘normal’ things I do each day.  But sometimes I have the overwhelming feeling of ‘is God really listening’ to me.  Or I wonder if I am praying selfishly – should I be praying for something else.
That’s when I try to stop and listen to the Spirit inside me.  He knows what I need long before it comes to my mind.  He will intercede for me when I am too drained to think of anything myself.  And as He prays with me and through me, I am refreshed and comforted by His Spirit.
We all need refreshment…some days more than others.  God will refresh us if only we will stop and allow Him too.
My prayer is that I allow the Spirit to pray through me…that my prayer life grows and grows…that people around me can see I have been in the presence of God.  How about you?
I pray everyone has a GREAT and BLESSED day.
