They say patience is a virtue.  Wonder who ‘they’ are.  Never have quite figured that out.

In some things I am very patient.  I had to learn that because of my son, Markus.  He has cerebral palsy and is non-ambulatory.  So for his whole life I have had to take care of him.  Dressing, changing, feeding, doctors appointments, hospitals – you name it we’ve done it together.

He has a lot of patience.  That means as far as responsibilities with him – I had to learn.

Outside of those experiences, I don’t seem to have a lot of patience for other things.  I try but sometimes it just doesn’t work.

Even in my walk with the Lord I have been known to get impatient.  Just ask Him! ☺ He could tell you many stories of how I got ahead of Him and He had to bail me out.  All because I had no patience and wanted things when I wanted them.

How do you learn to wait?  By lots of prayer and study and prayer.

My favorite verses about waiting is Psalm 27:13-14.  I love the Amplified Bible version.

[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!  Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring.  Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Wait on the Lord.

Keeps us out of trouble.

But hard to do sometimes…still in this flesh. ☺
